I bought this several months ago. It works well; however, once it gets a little bit of trash in it, the drawer sticks when you step on the peddle to open and I must pull on the handle to open . This is the reason for a 3 star rating

This product works like it is intended too but is more expensive that it is really worth. The air freshener mode makes a non-stop annoying humming sound but won't combat the trash smell completely. There is a top handle that is deceiving because no matter how hard you pull on it, the unit won't open. You have to step on a bottom latch to open the unit. The design is definitely not well-thought out.

Truly happy with this purchase, the open and close is so much smoother than past compactors we've owned and I love the simplicity of the front.

This is s nice sleek product that works well. However you may be able to purchase compatible products for $200 or $300 less. You are essentially paying the extra money for the name.

This was delivered with all the other Jenn Aire appliances we purchased. When the installers returned to level some I had them listen to the loud whirring sound. They discovered the air filter fan was the culprit and turned it off. Quiet descended. The fan is way too noisy but if you don't put food in your trash compactor you don't need it.
