This is my second Kitchen-aide built in. The first one lasted 22 years. I needed this size built-in, and it is quiet and working well and looks nice. It Keeps my food from spoiling longer than the previous one. I like the french doors, but I think I still prefer my last side by side configuration. This freezer is a little too small, and I am not crazy about having to bend over the drawer to dig for things. Its hard on the back and the drawer dividers are not adjustable and its won't close if something is sticking up too high. Its making ice just fine, and although I miss my filtered water in the door, I may be saving myself a lot of problems instead of the icemaker being in the refrigerator door to dispense instead of the freezer. Its another reason why the side by side makes more sense to me. I am not sure why refrigerators have become so pricey. It does less than my old one and I am told it will not last as long. I have only been using it for a couple of months now, so I am crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. The large drawer has to have both doors open to pull out, and it could use another shelf and/or door shelf. I am still trying to figure out how to keep the stainless looking good, its more work than the white panel on the previous one. The led lighting is good, but when it goes out, it has to be changed by a technician.

It takes practice.

I'm still getting used to this model as it's quite different from the side-by-side that it replaced. I needed a built-in that fit in the same space, and I've yet to learn the new features. This refrigerator has much more room than my old one, but the freezer, alas, is significantly smaller. The drawers are much smaller, too, and I'm not sure which drawers should be used for what as they're not labeled and the manual doesn't say. I like the half-drawers but not the long one that requires both French doors to be opened. There is a lot of storage space on the doors although there is no longer a bin for the butter. One thing we've learned is to put our most-used items on the right--the same place that was the refrigerator part of my former side-by-side.

Love the design!

This refrigerator keeps beverages exactly the right temperature and the LED lighting makes it easy to see everything. This is a great addition to our kitchen!

Flaw in door design

We were so excited when we purchased our KitchenAid appliances for our remodeled kitchen. We've been happy with our cooktop and oven but the refrigerator has a major flaw in the door design. When you close the left side the right side opens up, not completely but it breaks the seal and opens just enough to lower the temperature and ruin the food inside. It seems like it is missing a magnetic component of some sort. We've had a KitchenAid repairman come out to look at it and his response was that is just the way it is and there is no way to fix it. The kicker was that we had to pay for the service call because the refrigerator "is just this way". Very disappointed. If we hadn't paid such a steep price, I would get rid of it and buy a single door refrigerator. I would not recommend this until KitchenAid fixes this flaw.
